Charleswood Karate Club is where Karate and Science will come together! Enjoy our week-long Crazy Science Karate Camp; July 10 to 14, from 9 am to 4 pm. Campers, everyone from white belt to black belt, will partake in a non-contact style of Japanese Karate focusing on the perfection of one’s character. In these classes, participants will practice self-discipline, aerobic exercise, and muscle strengthening through various karate techniques, drills and games. Flexibility, balance, and gross motor skills are developed along with the spirit to keep trying and working hard! Social skills, cooperation, and self-esteem are nurtured along the way. The theme this week will be Crazy Science: Make your own Solar Powered S-Mores Oven, build a mini helicopter, make Magic Ice, and experiment with Exploding Boomerangs, Sand Volcanoes, Outrageous Oobleck and Fireworks in a Jar!
It will be an action packed week with excursions to nearby attractions in the community. Based on participants interests these may include, but are not limited to, swimming pool, spray park, community park. Along with dojo classes, expect some time outdoors for water play (yes, a water balloon battle is definitely in the works), explore through STEM quests and activities and some fun wide games. Make friends, work as a team, develop your a science based mindset alongside cool martial arts, and you’ll be ready for anything!
Cost $200 for 5 days – Ages 6 – 12 but older children can participate (check on rate)
