Rokudan (6th level black belt); certified International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) instructor.
Sensei Ron is one of the few Sensei in Canada who owns his own dojo and is so dedicated to karate that his home is co-located with the dojo.
Sensei Ron has 3 adult children who do karate as well:
- Ryan : Godan, 5th level black belt
- Scott: Sandan, 3rd level black belt
- Laura: Sandan, 3rd level black belt
Sensei Ron’s students have placed in Manitoba provincials, Canadian nationals, and internationally. His dojo frequently has the provincial champions for kata and kumite.
At present, the youngest black belt at Charleswood Karate Club is 10 years old and the oldest black belt students are over 50 years old.
