Online Karate Training

Online Karate Training

In order to Combat COVID-19, and still, keep everyone training karate, Charleswood Karate has started teaching online!

In Italy, they sing from balconies, in Karate we kick and punch from the safety of our homes. Join us as we practise hard, work up a sweat, and connect with other martial artists from around the world.

We are so excited, we have already run 1 online class and went very smooth! The audio and video quality where great, the class was fun, everyone worked up a sweat, and best of all we had 19 of us kicking and punching from our basements, living rooms, and dens!

Everyone stayed safe, social distancing is the full effect but all of us on the video still felt connected, it's not quite as nice as seeing everyone on the dojo floor, but it was very, very close!

Want to join us?

Go to our Facebook page, and join or email us at Sensei@charleswoodkarate.com and say I am in!

What you need to know:

1. What type of technology do I need?
A smartphone, laptop, desktop, Ipad, Tablet, almost any device with an internet connection works. Umm, if you're reading this, you likely have everything you need.

2. Do I need a web camera?
No, but it is nice to have. We have black belts watching and helping people as we work out, giving them pointers if they are having problems with the technique we are practising. If you don't have a web camera you can watch and participate, but we can't see you.

3. How do I access the training?
Everyone that registers gets an email with the URL about an hour before the class starts. We recommend checking your email, about 15 minutes before class, grab the link and log into the software, it's as easy as that.

4. Should I wear my Gi?
If you got one, wear it, if you don't, jogging pants or shorts, with a crew neck t-shirt!

5. How long is the Class?
It will be 45 minutes, long!
